OUR TREATMENTS
Remedial Massage Therapy
With 1-5 years of experience, our Remedial Therapists are RMTs who bring fresh techniques and a deep commitment to foundational massage principles. Each has undergone extensive training and certification and is dedicated to providing effective, client-centered care. With a strong focus on assessing and treating musculoskeletal issues, these therapists are well-equipped to address discomfort, stress, and injury prevention. They combine enthusiasm and current knowledge to create an experience tailored to your needs.
Advanced Massage Therapy
Advanced RMTs at Equilibrium are seasoned therapists with over 5 years of experience and specialized training in areas such as prenatal care, sports massage, myofascial release, chronic pain management, and stress reduction. They bring both a wealth of experience and advanced skills to support a range of needs—from rehabilitation and injury recovery to managing chronic pain and enhancing overall relaxation and stress relief.
Principal Massage Therapy
With 10, 15, and 20 years of experience, our Principal Therapists at Equilibrium are our most experienced professionals. Their extensive experience allows them to support clients with long-standing health concerns, and chronic pain, and those who appreciate a knowledgeable therapist to guide their wellness journey. Prenatal Massage Therapy
Equilibrium has five Registered Massage Therapists—Jenna McMahon, Dana Sawatzky, Mary Neufeld, Jensen Fridfinnsen, and Jennifer Stephens—specializing in prenatal massage. With advanced training in pregnancy anatomy and physiology, they provide relief from common symptoms like back pain, sciatica, swelling, and headaches while promoting self-care education for a healthy pregnancy.
Postnatal Massage Therapy
Postpartum care is just as important as prenatal care! Postnatal massage helps ease labor pains and relax your shoulders and chest after long hours of feeding. You can receive a massage whenever you feel ready. Your therapist can use pregnancy pillows and adjust for side-lying massage if needed. Most parents prefer to come alone for some quiet self-care, but you’re welcome to bring your baby, especially around feeding time when they’re drowsy.
TMJ Massage Therapy
TMJD (Temporomandibular Joint Disorder) refers to pain and dysfunction in the jaw muscles and joints. Key symptoms include pain, limited jaw movement, and clicking or popping sounds during movement. TMJ Massage Therapy can help address these issues, as well as related symptoms not causing dysfunction. Your therapist will assess your condition and develop a personalized treatment plan based on factors like trauma or stress-related strain.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture, a 3000-year-old practice from Chinese medicine, uses ultra-thin needles at specific points to restore energy flow, balance, and support healing. By clearing energy blocks in meridians, it improves blood and Qi circulation, alleviating pain and promoting relaxation. The WHO recognizes acupuncture for managing over 40 conditions, including pain and arthritis. Treatment plans vary; acute issues may resolve in 8-10 visits, while chronic concerns require ongoing care. Visit us for more on acupuncture benefits.
Athletic Therapy
Athletic Therapy focuses on assessing, rehabilitating, and preventing musculoskeletal injuries using rehabilitative exercises and manual techniques. Therapists treat various patients, including those with sports and workplace injuries, employing joint mobilizations, exercise programs, and Graston Technique. Anyone with a musculoskeletal injury can benefit from this therapy.
Concussion Consultation
If you've suffered a concussion or have ongoing symptoms, an assessment and rehabilitation plan is vital for recovery. Your concussion rehab starts with a thorough assessment over 1-2 appointments based on your needs. The therapist will identify your concussion type and customize your rehab sessions. Along with clinic work, you'll get advice on lifestyle and work to enhance your recovery.
